According to ancient Greek mythology, Aquamarine is said to be found washed ashore after spilling from the treasure chests of sirens.

In Roman mythology, Neptune, God of the Sea, considered Aquamarine to be sacred.

Over the centuries, the gem has been known as the “Sailor's Gem”. Believed to keep them safe on perilous sea voyages and was thought to protect them from sea monsters.
