Silver/Gold Witch Ball

THE WITCH BALL

Going back in my family's history, my aunt told me the story of Witch Balls that were used by our family.

The story she weaved was of how her family would place string or wire in a ball and cap it to trap evil spirits that would enter to count the strings inside.

They were hung in the rafters of the attic and suspended by a string.

Traditionally, they would be hung in an East facing window.

This ornament contains silver and gold colored wire inside a glass ornament.
